Natural Splendour of the Arrow Lakes

A Video Supplement to our Feathered Friends

Here is a very short video clip I shot with my Canon video camera a few years ago. As I pointed out before, it is important to set up the bird feeders in late fall, so our feathered friends discover the source of food early and make it their main feeding station. As you can see from the many visitors, the bird feeder in our backyard was indeed a major attraction. Enjoy.

    1. This video was shot with a zoom setting. But I have been just a few inches away from the feeder and birds were sitting on my hat, nose, camera, one bird actually swinging on the camera strap. The secret: Let the birds see when you fill the feeder and stay at the feeder until they overcome their fear.

  1. I have a feeder right outside our kitchen window. Your picture is a better view than I have with the feeder being so close. I enjoy the photographs you have shared in many of your blogs.
