Incredible Accumulations of Snow
There seems to be no proper balance of climate on this planet of ours. Some regions, even though they are located on the same latitude, get very little or no snow at all. People from these snow poverty stricken areas complain when they look at my pictures. And I reply you can have half of this white stuff, and we would still have more than enough. Oh well, as President Carter so wisely once stated, nothing is fair in life. I hope when viewing my pictures, you get a sense how our winters have been in the last couple of years. Enjoy!

Beautiful! I’m currently living in an apartment in a city, and don’t have to shovel a driveway, or rake off the roof, so I’m enjoying photos of snowfall much more! 🙂
And if you claimed that weathered stump in “Casting Shadows” as a piece of modern sculpture, I don’t think anyone would question it.

Enjoyed the photos. Of course we have lots of snow in interior Alaska. It snows every day. Shoveling and plowing snow can be a bit much. It is great for snow sports and insulating the ground. Although I love winter and snow, I agree that it can be a little too much. I’m hoping that it will melt by first of May. Thank you for sharing.

Well, by comparison we are doing relatively well. By April 1, the last traces of snow should be gone in our region.

It looks beautiful, but I know the downside of snow well—captive inside a house til you’re dug out, slippery roads and walkways, loss of power and heat, and strained muscles or worse from shoveling snow. We are expecting a storm here today. I filled the refrigerator yesterday and am hoping that we won’t lose power!

Same here. Melting snow on the rooftop create icicles, which in turn start dripping with day time temperatures climbing above zero. Kind regards! Peter

This really is too much snow! I can’t imagine how people go about their jobs with this much downpour!

Overall we have an excellent road maintenance service here in Canada. The snow ploughs and sanding trucks are working around the clock to keep the roads clear. Thank you Alok for your concern!

By the way, Carter was talking about abortion in 1977 when he said “Life is often unfair.” JFK in a 1962 news conference was responding to a question on the inequities in military service assignments when he mentioned that some service men are stationed in the Antarctic while others are stationed in San Francisco and then he added that “life is unfair.”

I also like snow. the way it Looks and when i look back to my childhood. But nowadays I’m frightend by the mere idea someone could slip near my house.You don’t know what kind of difficulties you have to face then.

Wonderful photos! I so enjoyed them from my hot and humid perch here in always tropical Sri Lanka! Makes me miss the snow. Not the cold, but fresh snow after a snowfall. Climate change and global warming is upon us. So much hard evidence all over the globe.
