Autumnal Colours
As Fauquier last week was basking under the bright sunshine with not a single cloud in the sky, I decided to go for a leisurely walk around our little community. We did not have a frost yet. So the fall colours did not include as much red as in other years. The rose hips helped a little to make a small contribution to my favourite fall colour. Enjoy.
Danke!

Insgesamt sehr satte Farben.

Gorgeous shots—what a beautiful world you live in! Our leaves are also very slow to change this year and are not as vibrant as usual. I heard that it is due to the warmer temperatures and increased rain—climate change. I am worried that our amazing foliage seasons may become things of the past.

I hope not, although predictions point into the direction of catastrophic changes. Since we moved to Fauquier, BC in 1976, this has been the longest frost free period.

Really sad and scary on so many levels.

The colors this fall have been more muted than usual, I think, but the golden yellows you get out there, are also beautiful. And I wouldn’t mind a sports car the color of those rose hips.

You are right, Robert. The red of the rose hip is truly remarkable and suitable for a sports car.

Such a pretty setting for a church. I like the second picture with so many shades! What’s that red pod? fruit or flower?

That is the fruit of a wild rose, a rose hip.

when will it flower? winter is approaching!

The rose hip is the fruit. The bush will flower again next spring.

You have captured the glorious autumn colors so beautifully here! I don’t see much of them here in evergreen Florida, thank you!

There must be something in Florida that attracts thousands of Canadian ‘snow birds’ every winter. Haha!
