The Peter and Gertrud Klopp Story – End of Book I

Epilogue

For our wedding on May 21, 1966, my mother wrote a touching poem, which she also spoke on tape. She was unable to attend the wedding. So Biene and I could at least listen to and enjoy her voice. Chronologically, her message belongs to Book III of the Klopp family chronicle, but her good wishes and heart-felt words are a very fitting conclusion to the trials and tribulations we had to endure before we could finally tie the knot.

  1. I loved listening, but it scrolled too fast for my slow German comprehension. Any chance you have it translated in English? I realize that the rhythm and rhyme will be ruined, but then I will go back and listen with thee translation to help. But even without understanding all the words, I hear the love in her voice. What a wonderful way to preserve the memory.

Was würde ich dafür geben….

Peter

  3. Peter, I have enjoyed reading your stories in the past few years. So, is this the end of the book? I am sure there will be another books, right?
That was lovely to hear your mother’s voice. But I don’t speak German, so I hardly understood it. I am sure It has beautiful meaning. Thank you for sharing you stories with us, Peter.

  4. Peter, your mother’s poem and her voice reciting it, is a true and very precious treasure, it is so lovingly and touching. I just wonder if there was anything from Biene’s family contributing to your wedding.

  5. That was amasing. It had to listen several times to your mothers voice, than I got it. It must have been more than 50 years I heared the voice last time and also our contact was not so close, just neighbours but I finaly I remembered clearly.
