Natural Splendour of the Arrow Lakes

Wednesday’s Photos

Reflections, Lake Impressions and Wildlife

Today’s focus is on the beauty of the Arrow Lake on, in and near the water. Reflections are forever fascinating, especially when you watch them in a light breeze, which adds motion to the wavy water surface.  While relaxing at the beach on Father’s Day last Sunday, mama merganser with her little brood came by close enough for me to take a picture of the same merganser family, we had observed the week before. I captured the two bears on my camera a couple of years ago also in the spring. It is quite rare to see two different coloured bears together. Enjoy.A-IMG_6352A-IMG_6382A-IMG_6386A-IMG_6393A-bears

  1. Wow, is that a grizzly and a black bear together? Or just two different colored black bears?

The photographs capture the beauty and serenity of your area, making it look like a paradise on earth.

  2. Peter, your photos are excellent and shine with the beauty of Arrow Lake, Those bears were close but seemed preoccupied with other things than you. Enjoyed all the photos. Thank you for sharing.

  3. “Reflections are forever fascinating…” Indeed they are, and the rhomboid shape created by the dead tree and its reflection works quite well. Also effective, as you said, are the wind-whipped ripples on the lake’s surface.
