A Refreshing Hike to the Waterfalls

Gone is the dense toxic smoke, gone is the blood-red sun and gone is the feeling of tense anxiety about the imminent danger of the wildfires all around us. The joy of being free from the oppressive atmosphere that dominated our lives during the past two months let our spirits rise in jubilation. Prompted by the fortuitous turn of events, my wife and I decided to go on a hike on a rarely used trail past the Needles cemetery that led us straight to the Whatshan waterfalls. Here is a brief virtual tour to one of the oases of peace in our region. Enjoy.

Past Rocks Sculpted by Millenia of Aquatic Erosion
The Whatshan Waterfalls
The Falls Hardly Diminished by the Long Summer Drought
The Beauty of Crystal-Clear Water, Tiny Bubbles and Reflections

  2. Love the green water of this falls area and all the golden hues in the last image. You are lucky to have such a refuge from the complicated world we live in and good news that the smoke has cleared and the worry has subsided.

  3. Great to hear, dear Peter, that the danger is gone.
We love waterfalls as well. This year we have had quite a lot rain and so the waterfalls are impressive. Great pictures of the waterfall.

  4. Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures, Peter! There is beauty in many places around us. We need to have the eye for it. Like they say…beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. You are able to appreciate and bring out the beauty of your surroundings.
