Relief from Smoke and Heat
Last Friday on our way home from Vernon we stopped at the Monashee Summit. What a pleasant surprise to see the forest around Lost Lake untouched by the wildfires! For the first time in weeks the air we breathed in was crisp and clean. Dragonflies were dancing above the lake’s surface and the view was like out of a fairytale book. Enjoy.

I am so glad that things are improving!

Nice to hear that there are areas unhurt. The first photo is enchanting with the fairy longboat.

Beautiful scenery and wonderful to see that some areas were untouched and unspoiled. Plus good to breathe clean air.

I’m so glad you found some of your special space unspoiled. The dragonfly’s quite wonderful. It looks as though you’re beginning to develop some signs of autumn — both the colors and the fading flowers.

You are right there is a hint of fall in the air, Linda!

Peter, i am so happy for you, that the air is clean again from the smoke of the fires, you have endured all this for quite a while being safe again and enjoying the true nature with the dragonflies surrounding you. What a blessing for you again. Stay healthy ,safe and happy.

She used her old Canon camera at Lost Lake. On that she had handed back her Panasonic Lumix day to the store for repairs.

My Lumix is gone. It was a present from my wife 2 years ago. Must be in the house somewhere but I tried to find it at least 10 times…

Happy clearing air. I had to remind myself that for a dragonfly German goes with Latin-derived Libelle.

so does the French: libellule.

I was going to mention that first but decided not to because it’s a diminutive, and German went for the non-diminutive form.
