Wednesday’s Photos
Bizarre Shapes at the Lakeshore
On February 15, as a belated Valentine’s gift by Mother Nature, a cloudless, deep-blue sky invited us to a photo session at the Fauquier boat dock. Odd shapes and colour combinations waited to be discovered and captured by the elderly but sprightly Fauquier couple. Multi-coloured pebbles, tubular-shaped lichen, moss already stirring in the crisp February air, and some strange-looking dried plant sticking up its head against the blue sky. Enjoy!

Nature is so amazing, as your beautiful photos prove. It’s remarkable how quickly everything wants to grow once the snow disappears, but there is a risk of being covered by more snow and ice at this time of year. I’m glad you made use of this mild day to get out of the house.
Stay warm,
Tanja

In the meantime, the temperature plunged to minus 10. But when the wind does not blow, it is quite pleasant to walk in the brilliant sunshine and to go picture hunting. Thanks for your kind comment, Tanya!

The lichens are mosses are my favorites: partly because they’re just attractive, and partly because they’re unusual. I suspect the moss is an early sign of spring, too!

The elderly but sprightly Fauqier couple has captured some fine specialties with their camera …
Actually the stones in the first photo are indeed very different. That is rather unusual, isn’t it?
