Keen eyes in a seemingly dull and colourless winter landscape will discover the pearls of beauty nature has prepared for us. I am always searching for the things hidden in the microcosmos of a snowy and icy fairyland, too small to see for the casual observer but large enough for the camera to capture.

If you’re in a land of snow and ice, why not take advantage of it, right? I remember those rose hips from some of your posts in previous winters. Your middle picture conveys a pleasant simplicity.

Red in winter always is cheering, whether a rose hip or a cardinal. Beyond that, the little snow ‘caps’ in your photos are charming.
