The near end-of-life crisis is finally over for me, and I look forward to blogging again, although on a very limited scale. Like Ann, one of my blogging friends, I have set some new priorities with a focus on family, more time spent with my dear wife Biene, and hobbies that I really like to pursue, such as genealogy, photography, songwriting, gardening, and enjoying the great outdoors. Once in a while, I will publish one of my better photographs or write a post with a light sliver out of the life of an octogenarian.

The image above shows the top part of my wife’s new blog site. She just finished writing her first post yesterday. You might want to peek and see if you find something that interests you. You will find her blog at http://www.bumblebiene.ca.
A BELATED HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL! LET US HOPE 2024 WILL BRING PEACE AND HAPPINESS TO HUMANITY. WE PRAY FOR THE END OF ALL WARS. LET THE LIGHT PENETRATE THE DARKNESS.
What a wonderful surprise to find your post in my mail, Peter! It’s so good to see you; it’s a fine way to begin the new year. Thank you for telling us about Biene’s new venture, too. My best to you both in the new year; I hope it’s a happy, healthy, and creative one for you!

Peter, you are not forgotten. Your family stories, yours and Biene’s romance, beautiful photos, and your personality are not forgotten.

Glad you’re back and feeling better, Peter. You have been missed. I’m afraid due to the pandemic we all had, I am leery about asking why people disappear.

Hello, Peter. I stumbled upon your blog while attempting to research Vaki batiks, and I’ve very much enjoyed reading about you, Fauquier, and Bill Laux. A few years ago, I purchased a rather large Vaki batik from Facebook because I had never seen anything like it and thought it was interesting. I knew nothing about Vaki or batik artwork at the time (nor did the person who sold it to me), and now I’m finally getting around to learning about both. The images on the one I have are quite unique, and I was hoping I could send you some photographs to see if you know anything about them. Thanks for your consideration!

Go ahead, Liz. We have a few of Vaki works, which I believe I once presented on my blog.
