Farewell to my Blogging Friends

It is with great sadness and deep regret to announce to all my blogging friends far and near that I will have to take a longer break from my beloved activities in klopp-family.com. During the Easter break, I have come to realize that there are more important and more precious things in life than being part of the dance around the ‘golden calf’. Ultimately, the bond that holds the family together through the loving dedication to each other’s needs is the most important thing. I also discovered that behind the social media lurks the danger of becoming totally addicted, as I have learned about a person very near to my heart.

I say goodbye for now and leave a video of the song ‘Oh Susanna’ that my wife and I played last Sunday on the ukulele.

  1. Peter, life and priories do change. Blogging can become addictive but I have to say, I have really enjoyed following your blog and the adventures of your romance with Biene and your family history. Enjoy your time with your wife, children, grandchildren and your relationships. You will be missed in the blogging world but you do have quite a treasure trove on your blog that you previously posted. May God richly bless you as you leave the golden calf behind!

  2. Great song, Peter, but in my version the singer is going to California, not Louisiana!
Sorry to see you go but hope you come back again someday! It has been a joy looking at your pictures and reading your family stories and I still remember that terrific history of the railroads in British Columbia!

  3. Have a wonderful time, dear Peter, with all and everybody you love. You alone have to judge what is important for you in life. As I use to say: everything has its time. I have really much enjoyed your writing about your family’s fate and your documentation of the wonderful nature you live. All the best! Gerda

  4. Hi, Peter, I was a bit concerned when we didn’t hear from you but now I know why. What you say about addiction is certainly true for some. For myself I must say that I through blogging met a lot of nice and interesting people, you and Biene were two of them. I will miss you! I enjoyed reading about Arrow Lake and your family history, and, of course, the series about Albert Schweitzer and the railroads in Canada. Will your posts remain accessible? But, you mention “a longer break”, not a total stop, so we might hear from you again at a point.

I wish you and Biene all the best, have a great time with your loved ones!

  5. I’ve wondered about your absence. I’ll miss your posts, but I certainly thank you for letting us know the reason for it, and your decision about future posting. Interests and commitments change, but you’ve left a fine record of your family and your natural world here. We all appreciate that.

  6. Don’t be sad about taking care of your own life, Peter. I will miss you terribly, but I would rather know you are happy, than ‘hanging in there’ at wordpress. May you and your family enjoy your life, as it appears in the video. Take care my friend!

  7. Peter, I hope you and your family are okay. I so enjoy your photographs and, of course, your family stories. But I also understand burn out as I am experiencing it myself and have been cutting way back on my blog posts and my time at the laptop. Please let us know how you are doing. And I hope our paths cross again in cyberspace or in the real world. Many hugs—Amy

I understand. I hope our paths cross again in the future.
The blogosphere is a patient, non-judgmental world. Interact with it when you want. Stay away when you need to.
    All the best.
