Spring Feelings by Peter Klopp

The sun pierces through the fog.

More cheerful photos on my blog.

Birds flutter around leafless trees.

What we’re still missing are the bees.

Wait my stony friend. Spring is on the way.

And you, Old-Man-Winter, must not stay another day.
You haven’t often turned to rhyme,
Which is a kind of sonic mime.
A red-breasted nuthatch I take the bird to be,
Sitta canadensis in ornithology.

I like seeing the nuthatches around. Do they stay in your area all winter? They do here on Vancouver Island, but it may be colder where you are.

I especially enjoyed seeing the first photo, although your smiling partner and that cute little bird are equally appealing. I saw a pair of butterflies today, and a few bees are active now. It won’t be long until we’ll all be enjoying full spring!
