Rose Hips, Ferns and Witch’s Hair

Even though snow had fallen last weekend,  it wasn’t enough to deter us from another hike on our favourite trail through the woods down to the Arrow Lake. My wife and I decided on another theme for this walk through the winter landscape. We wanted to capture plants that managed to stick their heads above the snow. Here are the results. Enjoy.

The Drop Hunters

Wednesday’s Photos

Last week my wife and I drove out to our favourite site, the Taite Creek campground, to escape the winter blues, which invariably set in, when we are cooped up for too long within the confines of our four walls. The effect was gratifying and we felt refreshed from our walk down to the lake. We also were rewarded by the many different drops we were able to catch on our cameras. Enjoy!

More Fall Pictures

The fall season is very short in the Arrow Lake region. I collected a few images from past years to post them here with the emphasis on the beauty of the landscape with its autumnal colours. In another week or so winter will announce its presence with frost and snow. Enjoy the beauty of fall while it lasts.

Fall Poem

A couple of years ago I wrote a poem inspired by the splendour of fall just within our own yard, which represents a microcosmos of the wonderful world of the Arrow Lakes. I embedded the poem two lines at a time into the video that captured the autumnal mood. Enjoy.

November Flowers

This year we experienced the longest frost-free period at our little community of Fauquier, BC. It was not unusual to see the meadows in the valley white covered in hoarfrost in the early morning hours at the end of August. Now we are already in November and the hardier flowers are still blooming, which I decided to photograph for your enjoyment.
