The Splendour of the Arrow Lake

Mountain Adventure with Michael

With the wildfires still raging in many parts of BC our son Michael invited me to a trip on his ATV to a nearby mountain range between Burton and Nakusp. Apart from the magnificent scenery we also for a few hours escaped the dense smoke down in the valley and breathed in the clean and invigorating mountain air. Now less than a week later the long expected rain has finally come to the Arrow Lake region and brought much needed relief from the smoky conditions. Enjoy the video.

Bayview Estates 10 km South of Nakusp

As you turn south from Nakusp on Highway 6 you will come to a viewpoint, which grants a superb look at Saddle Mountain high above the Arrow Lake. Not far from this point turning right to a winding road to the beach, you enter the secluded residential area known as the Bayview Estates. Here I stopped by on a November day to take a few pictures of the stunning scenery.

Above the Nakusp Hot Springs leads a trail to the bridge over the Kuskanax Creek. Its crisp and clean mountain waters tumble down and join the Arrow Lake at the picturesque town of Nakusp. Let’s take walk there and enjoy the amazing scenery.
