Natural Splendour of the Arrow Lakes

Plunge from Too High to Too Low

Less than four weeks ago we swam in the Whatshan Lake and enjoyed a balmy 20 degrees C warm enough for a picnic in a multi-coloured fall setting. Walking now in sub-zero temperatures with a stiff wind blowing from the northeast makes us feel as if the warm spell happened sometime in the distant past. The first snow has fallen and will mostly stay unless there is some relief coming from the relatively mild Pacific Ocean. Below are a few impressions from a recent walk on the deserted Fauquier Golf Course. Enjoy.

Panorama Video of the Arrow Lake

I took about 10 photos of the Arrow Lake with the camera in the vertical position and 16:9 format. Then I stitched them together to transform them into a huge panorama image, cut it in half and processed the two pieces in my video editor. Enjoy the beauty of our lake captured on November 2, 2021.

Fall Poem

A couple of years ago I wrote a poem inspired by the splendour of fall just within our own yard, which represents a microcosmos of the wonderful world of the Arrow Lakes. I embedded the poem two lines at a time into the video that captured the autumnal mood. Enjoy.
